Working principle: the foundation of power generation

Flexible solar panels work based on the principle of photoelectric effect. When light shines on the solar panel, the semiconductor material inside the panel absorbs photon energy and generates electron hole pairs. Under the action of an electric field, electrons and holes move towards the two ends of the solar panel, forming an electric current and converting light energy into electrical energy. This principle is the basis for understanding its power generation. Different materials and structures can affect the photoelectric conversion efficiency, which in turn affects the power output.
Influencing factors: Multidimensional determination of power
?Material characteristics
Material is one of the key factors affecting the power of flexible solar panels. At present, common flexible solar panel materials include amorphous silicon, copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS), organic polymers, etc. Amorphous silicon solar panels have lower costs, but their photoelectric conversion efficiency is relatively low, generally around 6% -10%, and their power output is relatively limited. The conversion efficiency of CIGS solar panels is relatively high, reaching 15% -20%, and can generate higher power under the same lighting and area conditions. The photovoltaic conversion efficiency of Pure Solar’s flexible solar panel modules can easily reach an ultra-high conversion efficiency of 22%.
?Lighting conditions
The intensity and duration of light have a significant impact on power. Under sufficient direct sunlight, solar panels can obtain more photon energy, generate more electron hole pairs, and have higher power output. In cloudy, cloudy, or low light environments, the power will significantly decrease. In addition, the longer the duration of illumination, the more accumulated electricity is generated, and the average power will also increase accordingly.
?Battery panel area
Power is positively correlated with the area of the solar panel. The larger the area, the more light can be received, the more electron hole pairs are generated, and the higher the power. For example, a 1 square meter flexible solar panel may generate 100-200 watts of power under standard testing conditions, while a 0.5 square meter panel will have half the power.
Common power range: reference for practical applications

In practical applications, small flexible solar panels are commonly used to charge small electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets, with a power typically ranging from 5-20 watts. Medium sized solar panels can be used to power camping equipment and small boats, with a power output of approximately 50-200 watts. Large flexible solar panel arrays are used in some small-scale distributed power generation projects, with power reaching several hundred watts or even kilowatts.
At present, Pure Solar’s main hot selling products cover conventional flexible solar panel products ranging from 100W to 525W, with over 100 overseas field project experiences. If you need it, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will select the suitable product for you.
